Admission

Students who have cumulative total of at least 90 credit hours including the completion of ENSC 441 (Capstone Design Technical Project I) or BUS 342 (Foundations of Entrepreneurship – Entrepreneurship and Innovation) are encouraged to apply for the entrepreneurship@SFU initiative. The ENSC 441 and BUS 342 provide important information for the student to create feasible business ideas, develop suitable business plan and assess profitable venture.
Applications are accepted at team level (each team must comprise of several members from Mechatronics Systems Engineering and at least one from the Beedie School of Business) or at an individual level. Individual applicants will be matched with students from the other faculty and work through a team development workshop to ensure cohesion and mutual understanding. Student participants will go through a selection process and selected students will form teams that are able to work effectively.
Students are eligible to apply for the Entrepreneurship@SFU program after completing ENSC 441 or BUS 342 and having at least 90 credit hours. These courses provide important information about a student’s abilities to develop venture ideas and assess feasibility.
Applications can be made at a group level (with a team of ENSC and BUS) or at an individual level. Students who apply individually will be matched with students from another faculty and work through a team development workshop to ensure participants are able to work effectively in a team.
